Playing

I HAVE to correct this post...I was using Cretecolor watercolor pencils which I am going to give away NOT derwent... I have since bought quite a few Derwents and they are FULL Of color...will start scanning some of the sketches I did with them today....when we were in the mountains a friend had the Derwents and they are OH SO Much more pigmented than the cretacolor pencils...

Today I drew four peaches with Portfolio watersoluble oil pastels, Crayola watercolor pencils and Derwent Watercolor pencils...strangely the most expensive ..thederwent had the least pigment...the cheap Crayola watercolor pencils that I found today while cleaning up and organizing did rather well...and were especially fun to use on a wet ground as were the Portfolio pastels...
This is a comparison of the Crayola watercolor pencils on the left and the Derwents on the right...the Crayolas covered the dry paper much better than the Derwents...no snickering now...they arent bad for the price...and far superior to their not so great Crayola colored pencils which will get donated to a school in the fall...
The turtle was out sunning on his log Monday when the dogs and I went for a walk...he dove in the water...like I would bother that huge turtle...he was at least a foot long...and there were giant carp...three feet between him and me...he can have his log...I drew this with a pitt brush marker because it was the only thing I had in my pocket...
The wood duck boxes and a huge sycamore on the edge of the big lagoon. Black pigma pen...yesterdays walk...Today Posted by Picasa

I think I may have just packed up a few boxes of Crayolas....after lunch the other day I felt the need to start sketching again. Maybe it is catching?
