Zoo days continue

My youngest son looked out the sliding glass door and guess what was there...a possum...right by the door...he didnt care that we were looking at him. I finally got my camera and snapped several pictures of him...these are a few...his body was about a foot long...minus the tail. He was looking for food and ate a dead lizard...no doubt killed by one of the cats....very friendly...not that we petted him...as i said we live in a zoo...or should i say the zoo days continue out here on the river?

Amazed that he didn't run when you were seen. He must have been very, very hungry. You surely have the critters there. Which River are you by?

We see lots of Possum here too. But I had to laugh because I just recently blogged a picture of Racoon Eyes Glowing in the dark...

We had a "house possum" in Northern Va. when we lived there. One day we heard a rustling under the azaleas out front (usually he was out back..once even walked up a full story of stairs to get at the bag of chicken dinner bones on the back bench). Walked to the edge of the porch and looked down...upon *two* possums, um..... in flagrate delicto? In the process of propagating the breed? caught in the act? They froze, and we tiptoed discreetly away to let them finish.....teeeheee!
