sketches from the Great Smokey Mountains and Gatlinburg

The first pic is a drawing of a pine tree off our condo porch....

This is a terrible sketch of my mom...used to big a prismapen...could not do fine details with it...she was also veryyy forshortened the way she was sitting in the chair...
These are just a few of the creek pictures that I drew with my prismacolor pen and colored with the Derwent pencils..there was so much pigment in them that I literally whipped some off when I hit it with the water....the colors were tooo brilliant for the pictures I was doing....
This was drawn at the sinks swimming hole in the Great Smokey National Park when my son and I stopped there...he wanted to go swimming...(hes off screen to the right)...there were a couple fishing that obligingly held still while I sketched them...when they left they threw beer bottles out of thier truck..I have thier license and car make and model in my molie too....

Maggie, your drawings are gorgeous! I love the spontenaity of the lines and then the colour washes over them. Really nice effect.
Your holiday sounds like it was loads of fun and you did so many interesting things. Your quilt top is so vibrant and joyful with all those colours - it just sings!
What a wonderful collection of images and quilt tops to remind you of this holiday. This is one you won't forget!

Any chance of a photo of your Prismapen you mentioned?
