What I was up to yesterday when i shoulda been

Doing something else...what you say SHOULD I have been doing?? not sure but I know there was something...lol

And I did our sweet old puppy Charley. He started as a contour drawing which is why he looks so slightly wonky. He is postcard sized. I touched up the picture of the pitcher plants that I did yesterday. Darkened alot of it..its done on a block of watercolor paper.

I spent alot of time drawing or painting one of the lilies that I took a picture of in Atlanta...the first one is done with Derwent watercolor pencils. Postcard size The second one is done with Grumbacher Academic Watercolors...and of course I LOVED the first one till I did the second one....also postcard sized

I also did a large version of it...done on some cheap watercolor paper that I bought to experiment with. I really like the postcard one better....I like the essence of the watercolors running around on the paper melting into each other...which I did SOME on this big one but not as well as on the small one...I may splatter paint this one later today.....hmmm maybe I should try it again when I get home from teaching my gypsy vest class...call it artist interruptus...darn I want to stay home and paint..

OH I also did that...I sharpened all my Derwent pencils and threw all the shavings on a piece of paper and then sprayed it with water. Funny thing about this ...first it bled thru the paper which is 140 lb BUT you could also rub it and get more intense colors...I am sure I could hit it with a wet paint brush right now and get more color...and of course I am going to have to try that....and iffff you laid another piece of paper over it you coudl get a monoprint...sooo much color in those shavings....WHY waste them...I am sure there are more uses for them...

When you get into a creative mood - you really create! Wow! I love the c/p drawing of the lily but I also like the first w/c of it, too.
Pencil shavings...hmmm, neat idea. Kind of different!
Do we get to see your gypsy vest when it's done?
Ummmm.... just curious, when do you sleep??!
