Downtown Athens is one of those places where it can be impossible to find a parking place. So we tried this side street around the corner toward the University of Georgia campus...and finally found one...and what did i see there..the old Tanner Lumber Company building...close up and empty but still very charming with a towering modern parking garage for UGA's north campus right behind it...
I had not thought of Tanner Lumber Company since i left UGA but i always loved going there to look at all the art supplies...in a lumber company of all places.
When i was a student at UGA I spent alot of time because the supply lists were endless. And they carried everything we needed within walking distance of the art building which was just up the hill.
Another vertical B pencil drawing in my large moleskine...while these can take a couple of hours to do i think they do a really neat job with architecture that would otherwise NOT be too interesting...Tanner lumber company is the old building dwarfed by the huge white parking garage. The picture that I used to draw this.

Great sketch! I can't imagine the patience it takes to work this way.
I enjoyed your watercolors from the previous post too. Looks like you had a very productive day!
I think you've done a great job on this sketch!

one more thing - you've got a really good eye for perspective, I just had a quick look at your previous posts!! Amazing:)
Nice technique, beautifully carried out Margaret!
It really depicts the scene in the photo but the sketch has more mood.
