My Roadrunner Saturday

The amphitheater was surrounded by chalk drawings and vendors...did i take a pic of either...no...

So the last two days have been roadrunner days...Friday was field day...as in 18 first graders with no other adult help to speak of all day....doing all kinds of fun activities and running around like crazy....

Sat was the biannual quilt guild meeting with speaker and a luncheon over in North Augusta at St. Barts...

then back over here to The Columbia County Arts in the Park day...needless to say I was asleep on the sofa by ten....moving right along to the bed:> There was a chalk art contest...and no not a name was posted with their work anywhere...at$10 a spot it was cheap...and the chalks were gorgeous big yummy colors...but i dont have the names of the artists...i didnt crop the pics either...sorry about that...i am sure its all gone now...

hazards of sidewalk drawing...i have never seen more people coated with chalk dust....and it was all i could do not to run over and tell a couple of ladies drawing DONT blow the chalk dust...it went everywhere and am sure they inhaled a good lot of it

quilt pictures? only a few...most of them have the fabulous art bras of quilters of south carolina...they can be seen on thier site and will be auctioned off for Breast cancer on Ebay sooner or later...
I dont know if this one ever got done...there were groups for elementary schools, middle schools and high schools...and then the individual ones some of which follow....
lovely colors
the left side of Greenbriar elementary's chalk drawing...My friend margaret teaches art there and pitched in like the trooper she is to help them with this...did i say it was a HOT day...
the right side...i meant to stitch these BUT the pictures are at such a bad angle...

My favorite...second place winner....somewhere i have a signed one by him...done by BrendanTHZ...possible graffiti artist?!

first place winner-interesting melange of ideas and van gogh's starry night

A friend of mine's student at Greenbriar Elementar...lovely job on the sky....

the chalks....had a lovely velvety black background...they really worked hard on this one! am glad they did NOT blow all that chalk dust all around the lizard...
