sketching at borders

This is the panorama(combined scans)

I actually did another double page spread in my wc moleskine ...but i scanned each page separately and then let HP studio combine them...and it worked perfectly...this program CAN be tooo smart:> About the drawings done with my rapidograph on pages that i had dyed with brown at home ...i also did the wc when i got back home

These are the two scans that were combined...
i started with the young lady on the left...she really was a gorgeous girl so relaxed reading like crazy and i blew that one...so when i moved to the cafe i decided to try just doing contour drawings and i think they turned out better...thats how i did the rest of the page....with one minor catastrophe...the person all the way at the left....another young girl...messed her up BIG time:> oh well...i didnt even know she was a girl at till she got up for a few minutes...

The lady watching the videos...I have seen her everytime i am in borders...its odd because i dont go to borders regularly...just very intermittently although its two blocks from work and right on my way home...usually go when they have a good coupon or a teacher sale...which they do this week till April 8 25% off...

The lady is always in the cafe watching watching videos...everyone else reads but NOT her....I have also seen her in Panera across the street doing the same thing...I go there alot of Tuesdays when i am taking a class to grab a quick salad for dinner...

I wonder why she does not want to go home...

The three young people on the left page were enthralled with something on the two laptops they had...talking and staring at them...and trading lap tops...a couple plopped in front of them just as i started to draw them....

The guy on the far left was very into whatever he was reading or studying...and he was the only person who actually had a drink from the cafe!!

This is the last of the three pages i did...think the "contour" drawings are much better on this one...the couple on the right are the ones who plopped down in front of the kids...and i drew the kids again...i think they look better...love the odd ball look of contour drawings... So I redid the double house spread rescanning it...and stitching it together...worked perfectly...no more blurry edges!

I love these drawings and especially the commentary you make on them. Watching and wondering what people are up to is fascinating. Of course, I'm betting that sometimes our curious thoughts are more exciting than the reality. But who knows?

Contratulations on doing so much sketching in public, I agree a Borders or B&N is the place to get a good variety of people sitting still ;-) These are quite good, and like all things get even better with more practice.!

I love everyone of these spreads, Margaret. Really great with lots going on in each. Loved reading all the little notes too. Your house looks fabulous, I'm so jealous of all that land! Great stuff.

Sensational Margaret! You've captured Borders soul!! I love your notes, I, like you, enjoy imagining what goes on in other peoples heads. Btw, Yes I am the one with a JR, Lily is her nsme. I forget who it was with the memory posts...Sadly not me!
