Its done....yeah

Well I finished my fourth turning twenty again quilt top..no not one is quilted...ok you are saying WHY does she make these when she can make art?? Well first I think done in Rowan fabric these are pretty artistic...its something about the serendipitous combination of all the wild colors and patterns...this one especially appeals to my color sense. All that red and purple and orange together with touches of black. Its also amazing to me how a pile of wild colors like these really do go together to make a drop dead gorgeous quilt and in the vein of a Kaffe Fassett/Liza Lucy pattern its straight forward and simple allowing the fabrics to create interesting patterns.

If you want to know where to buy Kaffe Fassett fabrics check the last post on my blog. There are several places to buy it-including the places where I bought most of this fabric. OH I Left off Thimble Pleasures in Carrboro NC. You can always count on is it Julie?(the owner) to have a fabulous assortment at the Asheville QUilt Show and have her charming professor husband with her to help sell you more than you were going to buy! Always a treat to shop at thier booth!

Maybe I'll finally force myself to find the time to do the same and practice drawing...what a wonderful snapshot of your life. Hope your kids appreciate these...they'll be a time capsure for them some day!

Now, back to my fast-forward life! Hugs, Sarah

Wow. This is so beautiful! And, totally, art. No question. It's quite pretty. I love how it looks like the core block is turned differently in the juxtaposition of blocks, so the pattern is there but different - not directly repeated throughout. Great colors.

Thanks so much for posting your Kaffe Fassett (fabric) quilts -- I have had my fabric spread out on my livingroom table enticing me for several days now, and have sent links of your blog to both daughters, and am wondering if I can possibly wait for the Turning Twenty pattern to arrive before I begin! Geeezzz, Margaret! These quilts are GORGEOUS! The fabric really comes to life, eh?
