sewing like a maniac....

and here are the finished tops...that means they are not quilted ...just the top.... and have been doing no drawing for the last week period...trying to use up some of these piles of fabric I thought I needed....I have got to stop and come up for air ...in the meantime here is the production for the last few weeks...While I was working on the blue and white snowball quilt I decided I needed a few more blue and white Kaffe Fassett fabrics so while I was waiting for them from Glorious Patchwork I realized that I had a few jillion seaside moda nickel squares and decided to sew up a baby blanket with them for a friend whose about to become a new grandma...a grandma quilt...well sorry Rachel but it kinda got tooo big...I even appliqued TWO centers....all needle turned applique...and dont aske me how many strips of the brown border fabric I trashed because I cut the angles backwards...but needless to say I went thru a WHOLE fat quarter sewing them...

The blue one went together like a piece of cake...or should I say a piece of Glorious Patchwork??? Despite having to match the corner part of the snowball to the next block and the two in the next row above it went together like clockwork...woudl you beleive that the border even turned out exactly the measurements of the one called for in the book...V& A Museum quilts....that has NEVER happened to me before...I am always off a little...

While I was hanging quilts tops off the landing balcony to take pics of I decided to take pics of the last two turning twenty quilts that i did and i have to say the red one made with the Kaffe Fassett fabrics is my favorite...I took a detail of it so you could see that it reall y is not as red as it looks up close....strange... The pale delicate one is made of seaside moda fabric...both of these quilts are queen sized...96x96 The last quilt is the one I have been working on finishing up today...the star and applique has been done for two years but I kept putting off sewing the triangles...dunno why...been a piece of cake sewing them from thangles..I intended to make enough for the inner border only but I managed to sew enough together for an half square triangle outside border too...do you think it needs one???

Wow, these are all glorious, Margaret. I think my favorite is the "red" one, but they are all beautiful!

It is very beautiful.
Big labor.
It is work that it takes time.

It is a culture and an art that I do not know .
It is necessary to study me.

And thank you for the comment.

I think the Star does need the extra border....that blank space helps 'stop' the eye and let it go back to the applique that is of course amazing!
