well finally

had this all typed into blogger last nite...pics downloaded and zip zap burp...nada...evidently blogger does not like safari very much so i downloaded Firefox this morning so i could get done...

Friday I had a class at the BOE building in downtown Augusta...it was such a lovely day i decided to sit outside in the small park that is in the middle of Broad Street..I drew this statue of a woman only to find out later that it was a statue of James Brown ...and this was James Brown plaza..who knew??:> Looked like a woman from the angle i was sitting ...long hair, a bun i thought and the long cape

After my meeting i went back out to the park to draw the street lights...for some reason there are two different types of streetlights with in maybe 20 feet of each other...the big fancy one is in the park. The modern one is on the side walk nearby.

I have to explain about Broad Street. It has been widely tooted as the widest street in the US or was it the world..had angled parking down both sides and in the middle they changed the angled parking to lowered parking areas with intermittent parks...this one is really pretty...they also lined the parking areas with Darlington Oaks about 20 years ago...now they are getting to be real trees...and all the trees really make it look great compared to the part of Broad they didnt plant..did I say I like trees???

What struck me as funny...all that work to beautify downtown Augusta GA and that bag of trash next to the light had been sitting there all afternoon...what are they thinking??:>

This is BAD KITTY...bad kitty is a large male cat that someone dumped in our neighborhood...he has been hanging around for a couple of months...big guy not neutered...beats our cats up...so he can eat their food...poor guy...hes hungry...I dont know why people dump their pets instead of taking them to the humane society or the pound...instead they just let them starve to death...NICE huh...did i say its my pet peeve...we dont have a humane society or a pound in our county so we either feed them or....well the alternative is not nice either...some of the men take them off to the fish cleaning station at the lake where at least they get to keep thier tummies full...I do hope in some future life thier owners get to experience being dumped and going without food...people bring them across the river from Evans a burb of Augusta where all the nouveau riche and "toney" crowd live and here they leave them..ALL I can say is grrrr.....

Hi Margaret!
I have really enjoyed both your blog and your quilting site. My son was wondering what was wrong with me when I kept going Oooohh, oooooooh, wooooooowwww! I was into quilting for about 3 years before my son was born - (he's 6 now..) I was always finding needles around, (like stickin' out of my foot when I stepped on it) so I was afraid to start it up again! I'm gonna add your blog to my RSS - I wish I was in SC and able to take your classes! Isn't it fun to draw! I got the Creative License book and it's really great. Have you listened to Amy Cowen's Creative Mom Podcast? I highly recommend it! Ok - off I go! Have a good rest of your Sunday!

Sounds like Bad Kitty is doing just fine if he's taking your cats grub.

When humans have despoiled the earth, the cats and cockroaches will be doing just fine without us.

Love the drawings...especially the street light!

Our neighbor, a vey wealthy woman, has a solution to the cat problem. Each month she puts out 100lb. of cat food. She has her man trap the cats, takes them and gets them fixed, then brings them back. So what strays were have don't have babies! She is our local cat control warden! We don't have a good shelter either, so we got of dog, now old, from the shelter about 50 miles away. A really nice place.

Dear Margaret Susie Monday, here, I REALLY love your drawings and this blog. I have a big burmese who just had to have a cancerous leg removed == He looks like Frankencat. but he's doing well and should have his life and quality extended. I agreee about aminaml dumpers. Ive moved to the country and seen some really sad dogs around. Susie
