Pamela Allen class

Fabric was flying fast and furious last saturday in the class I took from the fabulous Pamela Allen on Saturday at fiber on a whim...she never let people slow down long enough to worry about if they were doing it right or wrong...Were you trying to loosen us up Pamela??? If you were you succeeded....

I think this is Cindi Goodwin holding up her work for the day This is supposed to be me falling out of a rocking chair...something i have not yet managed to do...

CHANGES: I think she needs a neck...and still not happy with the cat he needs to be looking up to see what his crazy mom is doing......and maybe some arms on the rocking chair...had a before pic from the end of class which the computer seems to have eaten..this one has changed alot from the initial quilt...bytw its about 3' square.

This is the one that i worked on most of the day. Last year i had this infamous series of falling down the stairs and Jan teases me about it when i go to Fiber on a whim...see thier stairs in the previous picture...the shop is upstairs and the classroom is downstairs...she always teases me about NOT falling down her stairs...this time i told her it might be a good thing since my son is a newly minted GA attorney...i could sue her and own Fiber on a whim...;> thats a joke

After lunch Pamela passed out tiny pictures...we were supposed to incorporate it into an artwork in 15 minutes...i got the directions wrong....I thought we were supposed to replicate it in fabric in 15 minutes...ummm guess which one is mine...the girl in the middle....on the dark blue background...

I DIDNT incorporate it...too many art classes saying copy the master as exactly as you can... Some of these miniquilts were really neat...they are about the size of a piece of paper...a ready made journal quilt if we were doing that size this year...BYTW I brought the two faces with me...rejects from last years journal quilts...

These are a couple of my fav quilts from the Saturday class...my bad ...sat next to the lady who did the flowers all day and cant remember her name...her friend who sat on the other side of me was named Margaret...couldnt forget that name!!:>

always love to see work from pamela allen's workshops. looks like you had fun. i arranged for pamela to teach a two-day class at the museum where i worked in baltimore (www.avam.org). everyone had a great time.

thanks for visiting my blog. i have been so out of touch with quiltart for the past few years. nice to hear from a QA old timer. and nice to see a quilter who draws!
