so i have been really bad

and not posted in almost a month...i did mean to do better ...i swear i will...i keep posting pics to facebook...and i need to blog them since most people are NOT on facebook....

so i am feeling a little whiny and if you have been reading my blog for a while u know i am not usually whiny..ez breezy.. its a no whine zone...and since i whined i am giving u a pic of the strawberry tart that my friend margaret made from Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking after we went to see Julia and Julie...and its every bit as good as it looks...never had a thing that tasted better...

ok if u dont want to read the whiny part...i apologize bytw ...u can skip to the end to see the pictures...

anyway i am thinking about moving and YES I have a great seller shes number 3 at the number three selling realty company in the US not GA not SC but THE US!...but its just like on HGTV...they want the house santized of anything remotely looking like you lived there...and i have all this stuff...did i say i really hate the master bedroom sanitized...it looks like a motel room...and thats the idea....and theres just little ole me to pack it all up..and the house is three stories...and i have a walk in closet full of fabric...did i say the ONLY walk in closet...

and she did say i could keep 1/4 of it in the sewing room...and that i did not have to turn that sewing room back into a bedroom thank goodness...

BUTTT heres the thing...what do you do with all that fabric?? I dunno...I do have an empty tallboy i could fill with it...but do i need to keep it ...and if i want to get rid of it whats the best way to recoup some of my $$ out of it...this is about 14 years of fabric collecting...almost all from quiltshops or mary jos...

half of its batiks...and i would keep them..

.BUT what about all those moda repros i thought i needed when i was into doing blended quilts...i have enough for an army of them...ditto the orientals...keeping those...but my kaffe plaids and solids...i know i have had some of them more than ten years...

SOOO heres the question...so what do you suggest would be the best way to lighten my load...short of giving them away...anyway...did i say i am allergic to the fabric...so i am laboriously washing and de dustmiting it as i go...now i am HYPER allergic to dust mites...so this whole closet thing is getting to me...feeling like warmed over allergies!!

do i put all the dusted fab in huge ziplocks...sounding like a good plan to me...i know its bad for the fabric BUTTT....i am sick of sneezing...whats the point in having all that fabric if u cant go near it for sneezing?!!

so heres the pics...i know i dont like blog posts that are big whines without photos...so here are the photos...nowww off to put the fabric up that is on the stairs...and toss the kaffes in the dryer
the oranges and pinks oozing out of the laundry shute...one of my fav things about this house...it connects to the bathroom upstairs right by the closet where all this fab is ...and comes out right by the laundry...now IFFFF there was a dumb waiter to put it all back upstairs...wait there is me...i wait and wait on that fabric...

yellows waiting to go to the dryer for a hot flip to freshen it

heaps and piles of purples waiting to be dedustmited...

u would think i do hand applique for all the neutrals i have...guess i could over dye them...wait i have about 50 yards of white pfd ...that red check..there are THREE yards of it..or is it four? future back i am thinking...if i can stand it on a back..>I KNOW bella bandanas!

some of the hand dyes...all neat and clean folded waiting to go back upstairssometimes u find a treat while u r cleaning up...i had forgotten i had these...bought at houston five years ago i think....neat arent they?!
reds done from the laundry...now the interminable folding begins
heaps of browns and blacks...freshly laundered and sort of folded...they are neater now
more weeded fabrics....looking for a home...wait is that a moda i spy in that pile...i do like those silly lambs
remaining yellows on the way back upstairs
reds all spruced up ...
alot of fabric that will be looking for a new home...the pile on the left
the purples...freshly folded and ready to go into thier new cubby

here are alot of them stacked to go back upstairs...anyone want to come help?

Good luck! I hope the real estate person works out for you...I got the top one in CT...and it was HORRIBLE! She didn't have to work for her commission.....and she didn't. I won't even go into details here...sometimes someone who needs the listing will work better.

Give me a call and I will help fold and put away! Playing in fabric is one of my all time favorite things to do!
