Fragments

A little something i whipped up last nite....the Coral Reef Fragment.....why am i calling it a fragment?? its made with leftover bits and pieces from other projects scraps of life...

Guess its another zen morning...a good way to be!

I did have the urge to bead it but not the energy...though i did manage to quilt it at 10 pm last nite when i am usually ready to snooze...the embellishments...slivers of cloth, ripped strips of batik left from binding a quilt a chunk of hand painted silk for the reef and pieces of purple glitz leftover from doll making....as i was getting done it fell on top of a piece of purple batik that was on my sewing room table...and said it wanted that to join the fragment...think it really sets off the blue water fabric...bytw those purple blobby things look much better in person...they are very 3d and twinkly...they are my fans of coral...well at least in my mind:>

back to that one block wonder...i took a better picture of it...the last one was really sloppy looking....made from three of the moda chez moi fabrics because i used the original one to make curtains for my son Drew and his girl...now they will have a quilt to "match" it....i even had to go buy border...not enough for that either...i thought of asking for the curtains back...i trucked thru every store looking for border fabric...they are both tall and it would not have covered them for a nap without borders....so the binding is on...now to sew it down....i would rather make another fragment....

a detail of the quilting...the backs not really this pink but the quilting did not show unless i changed the colors...

Just to say I think your Coral Reef quilt in the Nature's Best competition is wonderful.
