Day 75 - The Rice Paddie

This is what my neighborhood calls a lagoon. It's actually an old rice paddie. My neighborhood is part of the old Merriweather land grant - 5000 acres stretching 15 miles or more along the river.

For a while it was a rice plantation with five very large paddies. The old flood gates for them are still here.
