Just got the email that my Lady Nolly or New Orleans will rise again was accepted as part of the Do You know what it means to miss New Orleans exhibit in Houston at International Quilt Festival in three weeks...too excited...wonder how many more beads I can get on her before I have to send her off....queul!!:>Maybe a few beads on her dress to look like water...you know those opalescent ones...wonder if Joyce would want to run by the bead store in Columbia when we got to White Oaks...its not toooo far out of the way...twenty miles...one gallon of gas...hmmm could be a plan...what do you say Joyce....
Binding...she has well 5 borders and one 1/2" binding...shes only about 24 x 28....shes meant to represent New Orleans rising from the flood waters, a little fussed and mussed but still beautiful...haunted by the memories of the storm but able to rise above it all..etc etc etc...
