Some moleskine pages

I wonder if i will start drawing more again since I have almost quit watching tv. I have been reading the new Earth...the Oprah book club book...I NEVER read those...but this one is just awesome...very inspiring...i have gone from being a tv junky who would watch anything at 3 am to n irtually NO tv and sleeping thru the night...guess we wont be needing that new flat screen tv will we?

BYTW get The New Earth and read it...guarantee you wont put it down...

I drew this very dignified older lady while she was sitting in the Targets starbuck enjoying her coffee...i have gotten quite bold drawing in public....
My robin is a bit wonky..they are all over the neighborhood right now...as well as small birds...maybe sparrows...they are playing chase with each other...and then there are the crows...the birds love all our weeds along the river bank...their own private play ground...I have been testing the first graders on Dibbles...dont ask you dont want to know what that is...its a test...theres a story called the Robins Nest...NONE of them knew the word Robin...not even the smartest kids...no time to talk about robins with no child left behind running the show...seems to me that it has definitley left the child behind...
Well the naming of the kitten continues...hes been thru Roy and now hes Boots...I still like Sug...even though connie doesnt...i think its perfect...maybe i will name my next cat Sug...should be a new cat here before long...someone is always leaving a stray cat or two in our neighborhood...
i just loved the saying Any chocolate holiday is a good holiday so i drew this journal picture to go incorporate it..little did i know the fateful words chocolate...The dr says not to eat it for a while to see if thats whats causing my increased heart rate...worse thing is that i do think it is....sooo sad i dearly love chocolate...guess its those darned fresh veggies for me...anyone want a strawberry pineapple banana yogurt smoothy...with whey protein of course....
this is a sketch that never got finished...a sparrow kept lighting in one of the holly bushes outside the den window...I decided today that this room was like a birds eerie...is that how you spell it...the birds fly allround it never noticing the windows right by the bushes...
So i thought i would post these in a hurry...yeah right...well we shall see...

Back to school in the morning

so i think a couple of school sketches are appropriate right?!

MOLESKINE, PRISMACOLOR PENCIL

This is the new crop of kindergartners...all ready to pay attention and learn like crazy..they are the sweetest and best behaved bunch...and SOOO smart...the writing is about what they were learning in center time that day...did this one several days ago but just colored it friday nite...fun like having your own coloring book:>

a very fast sketch of one of the teachers on the back of an index card...took about one minute

Borders sketching

Had a THIRTY percent off coupon for borders yesterday so you know what i did...i now have a new moleskine...still in the wrapper waiting for this one to be finished...four more pages...

After i joined the crowd in the cafe reading borders products i had to sketch a few of the denizens...odd they kept walking away...and there was another guy wearing a black turtle neck reading by the window...maybe its a friday thing at borders??? dunno...

Moleskine with prismacolor pencil...

like the first one best...wasnt in the mood to draw...they dont look like the people...BUT oh well they are done! right?

Because the subjects kept walking off...the girl came back ..the guy never did...i didnt quite finish this page...and i had to fill it in with words...and shapes...think it got to dark....

so i actually have been drawing

and heres the first post...
Jazz on her favorite down pillow...or maybe i should call this WHATS UP? moleskine sketch book with prismacolor pencil

Jazz said to tell everyone that shes feeling much better...that weight loss of three pounds and her new NOT so yummy diet of Natures Balance dog food has her going...her nose stays wet and the wierdest thing...her hot spots have cleared up...vet said it was fleas...I say it was the IAMS dog food...in the green bag...she hasnt had any meds for chewing since Labor day weekend..no predisone, no zyrtex...shes like a new dog...peppy and so affectionate...evidently she is feeling MUCH better...recovering very well from her pancreatitis!

OK there is a river out there but you couldnt tell this morning could you?? PEA soup fog!

More of my downtown sketch crawl

More sketches from my trip to Athens....which was voted one of the top ten college towns. It has a great area downtown to walk in just jammed pack with great restaurants of all types...

All of these were done in my moleskine with ink and prismacolor pencil

This is the view at nite out my hotel window...oddly there were not many colors at nite...just the street lights and stop lights...and a sign or two that would show in the dark ...I didnt even notice the patrol car or the side street for quite a while....it needs a little more color in it but who knows if or when that will happen...
This is the happening corner in downtown Athens, College and E. Clayton Street...it was not a hot day so alot of people were standing around just talking....the trees have really grown up ....i would have drawn more but a street guy came up and wanted to have a long conversation so off I went to the next spot...moleskine with ink and prismacolor pencils

These are the famous University of Georgia Arches....you are not allowed to walk thru them till you graduate....they are found on Broad Street near where it meets College Street on Old Campus. The University of Georgia is the oldest land grant college in the US dating back to 1793 and some of the buildings on this part of campus are the original ones...back when all this area was in the country...almost frontier....now there are more than 35000 students at UGA...or Georgia as we called it when i went there. not really happy with the grass...scratched some of it off...its too solidly green!:> ..
