Congratulations! That is a great piece. We have a heron at the inlet at the bottom of our street...beautiful birds.
I love this quilt! We have great blue herons around our lake and river. I love watching them fly, so prehistoric looking. I have always called them my "friends". When my boys were small and would see one, they would yell, "look mom! One of your friends!"
They have always held a place in my heart. Whenever I am praying or working something out in my mind, if I see a blue heron at that time, I know it is a sign that I am on the right track.
