165- Zoo paintings FiNaLLy!!

Two weeks ago I went sketching at the Atlanta zoo. Finally getting around to painting them.

Pen is my Lamy Safari fine nib with Noodlers bulletproof ink.

The elephants are made with greys made by combining either ultramarine blue and burnt umber or cobalt and Quinacridone raw sienna.

The Georgia red clay elephant yard is painted with yellow ochre and raw sienna. Shadows are pimonite and the greys combined.

The third elephant was showing off flapping his ears.

Here are the sketches before I painted them. I did try to journal the day I drew them.

More zoo pages to come. Thanks for looking. Back to my Christmas stocking.
