The Sewing Bedroom

Okay you asked for it...here is the place I do all my sewing...not all my messing but all my sewing...its really a guest bedroom..... hmm if we can jam a guest in...of course quilters might have sweet dreams in this room loaded with fabric. I measured the room today...its about 11 x 14...not too bad if it didnt have the dang bed in it... Its pretty neat right now...thought I would get some pics BEFORE I mess it up!!!
The bed in the sewing room....I mean the chaise longue...is that right Sophie??? The stars quilt is from Alex A's book and is the first quilt I made when I started quilting again...only on e peak...the basket in the bed is full of 342 6 1/2" wild drunkards path squares...dug out during the great clean up

Just want you all to know that my sewing room is not usually this neat...this is the product of straightening and throwing out for two weeks...and rearranging....

I th
rew out several bags of trash and gave away three large trash bags no make that huge of scraps to friends...I also found all kinds of cool things like strings of orange sequins, all kinds of organdy ribbons...a couple of packs of sculpey fell on my head...oh yeah and some antique buttons...now safely sorted so maybe I will see them again before ten years... oh I had an old piece goods bag too ...how long have they been gone??? Maybe I should have put it on ebay as a genuine sewing antique...lol...

I usually keep my fabrics sorted by colors...this is everything but the greens and blues...the two african basket are full of greens from a recent project.

In the right corner of the closet is a large stack of plastic boxes full of yarn and assorted projects and a stack of shopping baskets to put fab into when I get ready to make a big mess...

...The wooden shelves hold my greens, blues stripes and black and whites...and usually my basket of fq and dots...lots of dots...no face on my 6500 yet but I was thining of girly eyes so she could be deb lactiva's machine's girlfriend...they would make a cute couple....

Hand dyes are in the metal shelves under the "entertainment center" ...baskets are full of fabrics...the big plastic one is full of silk...
These drawers are great...full of assorted things like ribbons, laces, organdy, netting, and funny things that I cut up to collage...and one drawer is packed full of ufos...

The rack used to be full of thread till I noticed
it was getting covered with dust so I moved it...this is the remains of rayon thread I bought for 25 cents a spool at the flea market in Asheville...I bought $40 and have given alot away to home ec teachers for their embroidery machines and they loved it!!
Oh this is also the rest of my entertainment uniton top of two boxes of shibori fabric and my bernina 180 .....keeping that hoffman challenge fabric on the door till I do something with it...

This small room has 4 doors and
THREE windows...no wonder I dont have any wall space...and a BED! This is the view out the sewing bedroom window...only thing that makes it worth while...told you I had three windows...and a great view..
This is one of my two quilt guardians our baby Charley...hes getting old...11 and fat...fat Jack Russell whos going to be in a painting...and then he will be a famous Jack Russell. Our friend Jeffery Callaham is going to paint him as a yard dog...Go buy all Jeffs paintings so he will have to hurry up and paint Charley!!

This is Charley's buddy Jazz the other quilt tester. Jazz usually lives up to her name...and they both have to stay with me in the sewing room when dh is not home...this is one of their two pillows...did I say they both have a large pillow to lay on in the sewing room...And if you beleive jack russells are buddies...well let me sell you a couple...

Okay last pic...this is the living room from the top of the stairs...we never use it..has the same view as the sewing room...dont you think I should spread out??? Dont tell my dh if you see him but if was good enough for Monet its good enough for Maggie...right?!!! Couldnt I spread out in this room and its got walls!!!

See you all when I get back from the beach!!!
