Damp red socks right out of the dye bath...they were rinsed and dried with a white towel. As everyone said it would be the water was clear when the socks were done. Not one bit of the red bled onto the white. The color did much better than procion which always has run off when you rinse it. Posted by Picasa

The dye bath was exhausted because it is an acid dye and the wool is protein fiber. I have dyed roving in koolaid in the microwave, using a glass dish and clear plastic wrap over. Just keep zapping the wool and dye until the dye bath is exhausted. Faster than using the oven.
