Sunday things #2

okay so i threw in the towel and colored the background...MUCH livelier...

.and then i was listening to the podcast of Mark Lynch on WICN PBS boston interviewing illustrator and journaler and blogger Keri Smith about her book Wreck this Journal which is about freeing your art...not knowing the ending or if it will or where it will end...

while i listened to this podcast i realized i had not known where i was going with this draw what i used all day today...what i would use where it would end and it was really great fun..it ended when the page was full but i had not thought that i would fill up the page soooo....what next??? do another page...and evidently another...

and this is what i did to a page of quotes that i had written down today...in relation partially to other things that happened today...i started embellishing the writing and doodling ....then of course i had to color it...with my prismacolor art stix...the pages below the molie where giving textures to the page as i colored...so i thought add MORE...more is always better in my book...and i scribbled out my mistakes...or used them as a design feature...and i really like this page...which is why i posted it...

as to the No'm Yes'm...i watched Morgan Freeman in Driving Miss Daisy....thats the only place you hear these terms now but they used to be so widespread in the south...one of those things Northerners judge southerners badly for when they hear them that we were talking about on EDM this morning...

I was starting to live more recklessly for me which is what the book wreck your journal is all about...i think i must go buy one..and only one...(you have to destroy it so alot people want to buy TWO!!) I had not cared if the drawings actually LOOKED like what they were...just a general drawing that read shovel was fine...that is not my shovel...it was get all the things on the page...see how many would fit....was there room for more?!

ANYWAY Off to bed....Bus duty in the morning....ENJOY!!!

That's very creative; the coloured background is great.

The Wreck the Journal idea is interesting, but I'm not sure I could bring myself to actually wreck a book...I find it hard to part with even the tattiest old paperback that I'm sure I will never read again!

Great pages!! and I have that same John Cage quote hanging across from my desk. I look at it often and try to remind myself to follow the good advice. I've been wanting to do the "Wreck My Journal" too - maybe this will finally be the month jump in.

This is a great journal page. The color added to the background really makes a difference. Love the doodly quality, too.

What wonderfully creative FUN pages, so inviting and descriptive, And INSPIRING!!! I think I HAVE to do a page like this now - or a page of everything I eat in a day (that should help me diet!!)

These are great journal pages, Margaret. As well as the amount of stuff you've packed into your "Used Today" layout, the all-over colourfulness of the pages lifts the spread out of the ordinary. You sound as if you're having a lot of fun.

I really like the journal pages. You have my permission to continue with them.
