And they are off and running at the Gallery

The gallery opening was last nite and the sketch quilts were a hit ....there was a nice crowd despite the freezing cold weather...This is our star...Jeffery Callaham ....signing calendars for fans:>''

Even though it was soo cold we had a perfect time...the company was great...we stayed for an hour or so...and then off to Hobby Lobby...you have to go there if you go to Aiken and then to O Charleys for a great salad...and then back home...and to bed...what a great way to spend an evening...

This is the VERY large gallery space at Aiken Center for the Arts held more than 100 pieces of art last nite....There is also a large space in the front where various arts are for sale on a daily basis...
Browsing some of Jeffs fabulous small art work...Our star artiste talking to everyone and having a great time...Connie the quilt queen in front of her favorite sketch quilt(TM) The Leaving...Jeff and his fans crowding around...the popular food buffet...the quiche were yummm...how did we live without sams when we did these receptions???

Jeff would you please sign a calendar for me....

And would you sign one for me??? Jeff please!
Sam .... he drove all the way from Augusta for the opening after a long hard day at school...
And James with Sam...James drove all the way from Greenwood...
More calendar signing...
I like this one....its called a "Sketch Quilt"(TM)
These are really nice and different...a charcoal sketch with a quilted frame....coolll idea....
The competition.....
A nice crowd....it took us all a while to get warm again...the center used to be an old store in downtown aiken...
Lets buy this one!!! I love the old ladies and the cats on the porch and the colors of the quilt is great....
I think this one is my favorite...actually Connie said that ...this was her favorite of the small ones...we had all of them spread out on my kitchen floor before they were framed...what a treat that was...
And YES there was wine....what would you like to drink?
This is a small room that held the Aiken Art Guilds work...
