The dead remote and the new back door....

A lab can make short work of a remote quickly!

No more than five minutes and the whole top was gone...sigh!!!

okay so no this is not an artsy post BUT a kudos post to the kindness of strangers and the excellence of service some places still provide...and the not quite excellent services of others...

Last nite Bella the lab decided to chow down on the tv remote...the one for the cable box...this is whats left of it...I thought...there goes another $40-60!! Called western carolina telephone our service provider...and lo and behold...i can drive to McCormick office and swap this one for a new one...NO CHARGE...they called me first thing this morning....i didnt have to call them...its why we keep using cable and dont have Satellite even though we might get more HD channels with Satellite...we get a person on the phone for service ANDDDD they show up at 9 pm if they have to fix the tv, phone and internet service...GREAT thanks to them...

I have been without a back door ...only a slab of plywood trying to find someone to rebuild this peachtree door slider...ten months later it was put in...My brother Gene took it to a local place that builds doors...only $700 and two months later its done and in...Arent the WRONG drill holes attractive NOT!

thanks to the kindness of two friends husbands Chip Atkinson and Larry Beeler....Chip picked it up and Larry helped him put it in...THEN the problem...silly people had put the latch on backwards and and INCH over from where it should have been.....Chip and Larry had to redrill it...move the latch over...the latch is now slightly loose BUT at least it works..needs a wedge of some kind or another to it wont wobble...but my isnt it pretty...or wait it will be after i fill those holes!!! lol..now to cover it up with plastic still i paint it with spar varnish ....and then paint it with latex...and paint it and paint it...luckily i do like to do trim work...will be getting up EARLY to do before the heat sets in!
