Day 81 - Alla Prima Sketches

Alla prima means first strike. These quick watercolor sketches were painted with very few strokes and a brush loaded with color.


You paint with your brush as if you are painting with oil paints or acrylics instead of lots of delicate layers.


The shadows were painted while the object they shadow was still wet. Try it. It's a lot of fun!!  Hold your breath and dive in!!
