one to go one to go....Jeff Connie and I got together at my house yesterday a little before noon to sew quilted borders onto his charcoal sketches...these are pieces that Jeff Drew on Canvas and set with several coats of fixative....I was worried they would smear so I tried ...the charcoal...notorious for smearing did not smear a bit...
Connie and Jeff discussing what should happen next...
Using my huge scrap bag all kinds of wild and wonky scrappy blocks were pieced together to form the borders...fabric was piled everywhere...
This is a small canvas...maybe 12 x14...called the leaving...something about it is quite sad to me...and i think the blue borders were ideal...whacked and rearranged several times...
Tired Jeff...what happends when you dont get much dinner:>
The fourth one....yahoo...getting DONEEEE....one more to do plus to put on the backs...glue and batting ...wonder how that will work....the experiment continues!

WOWEE, Maggie -- these are fabulous! I've missed you too! I had 2 conferences, taught on Saturday and criss-crossed NC .. One more insane week like that to go before a bit closer to normalcy .... you look like you had a ball!
Thank you for showing us these - very interesting to see how the sketches and scraps look together - wonderful.
This guy´s drawings are awesome. And so is the framing - great idea, I don´t think I ever saw anything quite like it. Unusual approach to drawing AND framing. Love it. I love "the leaving" the most, and the top drawing, with the people and the cats.
These are awesome! What a great idea. And then I had a thought - what if he drew a border to go around one of your quilts?
